Alleged impaired driver arrested for fatal fiery crash on Beltway 8

HOUSTON, TX – According to the Houston Police Department, a suspected impaired driver fatally collided with another vehicle on the 12000 block of South Sam Houston Parkway West on Saturday.

James Tzu-Chi Yen, 30, was reportedly driving a black Volkswagen ID4 at around 3 a.m. when he slammed into the back of a Ford Focus that was stopped at a red light.

First responders pronounced the female driving the Ford dead at the scene. Officials have not yet released her name.

Authorities determined Yen was impaired and arrested him for intoxication manslaughter.
