Alleged impaired driver fatally collides with another vehicle in Greater Fifth Ward
HOUSTON, TX – A suspected impaired driver was involved in a deadly two-vehicle collision at Lockwood Dr SB and Market St on Saturday, according to the Houston Police Department.
Lakeisha Woodfork, 26, was driving a red Nissan Sentra west on Market St when she collided with a purple Dodge pickup truck operated by an 18-year-old man heading south on Lockwood Dr around 9:55 p.m.
The collision caused the Dodge to roll multiple times before coming to rest on its hood.
Paramedics pronounced the Dodge driver dead at the scene and transported Woodfork to an area hospital in stable condition.
Authorities determined Woodfork was impaired and charged her with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.
Officials have not released the 18-year-old man’s name.
The HPD Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the incident. They are looking into who was at fault for the crash.
