Authorities arrest man for deadly hit-and-run on West Main Street in League City

LEAGUE CITY, TX – Authorities have arrested a man for a fatal hit-and-run that occurred on the 3300 block of West Main Street on Tuesday, according to Click 2 Houston.

James Collins Jr., 62, was allegedly driving a gray late-model Toyota Tundra when he struck a man around 9:40 p.m. Collins then reportedly left the scene. The victim was then hit by another driver.

First responders transported the victim to an area hospital, where he died on Wednesday.

Following the collision, the second driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

Investigators identified Collins as the Tundra driver and arrested him on Wednesday.

Officials have not released the victim’s name.

The incident is under investigation by the League City Police Department.
