Bicyclist killed in hit-and-run accident in Williamson County

FLORENCE, TX (WILLIAMSON COUNTY) – A bicyclist is dead following a Sunday-morning hit-and-run crash in Williamson County, according to CBS Austin.

The accident happened at County Road 239 and Ronald Reagan Boulevard when a man allegedly drove onto the right shoulder of the roadway and collided with a man riding a bicycle.

The bicyclist was killed, and the driver fled the scene on foot.

Police have called off the search for the suspect, but believe they have identified him.

The identity of the victim was not released.
