Big rig crash, hazmat spill closes two lanes on I-10 WB in west Houston
HOUSTON, TX — A two-vehicle crash involving a heavy truck late Tuesday morning blocked two lanes and a shoulder on Interstate 10 in west Houston, according to Houston Transtar.
The accident happened on the westbound lanes of I-10 (Katy Freeway) at Beltway 8, in the Memorial City neighborhood. It was verified by Houston Transtar shortly before 12:00 p.m.
Officials have not disclosed the circumstances of the wreck, but a hazmat team was called to the scene to attend to a resulting spill over the roadway.
The right shoulder, right lane, and center lane were blocked in the immediate aftermath.
As of this writing, no updates regarding the scene conditions have been released.
It is unclear at this time whether anyone was seriously hurt.
