Bus and car collide in Baytown, injuring Deer Park student
BAYTOWN, TX – A junior high school student sustained injuries Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash involving a school bus in eastern Harris County.
According to Click 2 Houston, the accident happened around 8 a.m. on Thompson Road near North Market Loop in Baytown, which is approximately 26 miles southeast of Houston.
Police say that a car collided with a a school bus carrying 31 students and two adults from Deer Park Junior High School.
Both the cause of the crash and the manner in which the two vehicles impacted remain under investigation.
Officials say that one student may have been taken to an area hospital for evaluation. There’s no word yet regarding the extent or severity of the student’s injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
