Car rear-ends motorcycle on Beltway 8, killing operator
HOUSTON, TX – A motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries in a two-vehicle collision that happened early Tuesday in northwest Houston, reports Fox 26.
The accident happened shortly after 2:30 a.m. on the eastbound service road for the North Sam Houston Parkway, or Beltway 8, at TX-249, or the Tomball Parkway.
Police say that eastbound vehicle rear-ended a stopped motorcycle on Beltway 8. The impact of the crash threw the motorcycle operator from his bike and into the roadway.
The motorcyclist died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the name of the deceased.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash showed no signs of intoxication and stopped to render aid. Medics took them to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
