Car slams into utility pole off Airline Dr, killing driver
HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A driver lost their life on New Year’s Eve following a single-vehicle wreck off Airline Drive near Houston’s Northside, reports the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The collision took place in the 8600 block of the road and was first reported at 8:47 p.m.
Investigators say a male driver was traveling alone and operating a blue BMW 328 in the far left southbound lane. At one point, for reasons still unclear, the vehicle veered out of its lane and hit a utility pole on the road’s west side.
Officials confirmed the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
An investigation by the HCSO’s Vehicular Crimes Division remains underway.
