Constable indicted for fatal UTV crash on County Road 133 near Liberty

LIBERTY, TX – A constable has been indicted for a deadly UTV crash on County Road 133 on May 10, according to Click 2 Houston.

Liberty County Precinct 1 Constable Tammy Bishop was allegedly impaired as she was driving a UTV at high speeds when she strayed off the road, ejecting all three people inside the vehicle around 1 a.m.

First responders pronounced a female passenger dead at the scene. Bishop and an adult male passenger were transported to area hospitals.

Authorities charged Bishop with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle and intoxication assault with a vehicle. A judge set her bail at $60,000.

Bishop turned herself in to the Liberty County Jail on Wednesday.
