Constable’s deputy seriously hurt in Atascocita crash involving DWI suspect
HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A Harris County Constable’s deputy was hospitalized Sunday night their patrol vehicle was hit by a DWI suspect in Atascocita, reports Click2Houston.
The incident took place in the area of Atascocita Road and Eagle Springs parkway, where Deputy Leon, of Constable Mark Herman’s Office, was conducting traffic control along with Atascocita Fire Department.
At one point, a driver rear-ended the deputy’s patrol vehicle.
First responders rushed the deputy to an area hospital for serious injuries.
The driver of the striking vehicle, who displayed signs of impairment at the scene, placed under custody. Authorities indicated that he was taken to the hospital for unspecified injuries and is expected to be transported to Harris County Jail upon his release.
