Corvette driver fatally collides with two other vehicles on FM 1960 Road East

HUFFMAN, TX – A Corvette driver died in a collision involving two other vehicles on FM 1960 Road East Sunday evening, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

A person was driving a Chevrolet Corvette west on the 12800 block of FM 1960 Road East while weaving in and out of traffic to pass other cars around 7 p.m.

The Corvette driver hydroplaned as it was crossing, causing it to spin counterclockwise into oncoming traffic. The driver of a black Lexus IS 250 struck the back of the Corvette, which caused the Lexus to spin counterclockwise and hit the Corvette a second time.

The driver of a black Cadillac XT5 was heading east at the time of the crash and attempted to avoid it. They swerved left and hit the Lexus’s front right side before coming to a stop.

Following the collision, the Corvette was sent crashing into a ditch before catching on fire.

First responders pronounced the Corvette driver dead at the scene. Officials have not released their name.

The two people in the Lexus were hospitalized with minor injuries. The Cadillac driver was treated and released at the scene.

The Vehicular Crimes Division of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. \
