Crime Stoppers offers $5,000 reward for info on deadly hit-and-run on NW Fwy
HOUSTON, TX – According to Click 2 Houston, Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information on the fatal hit-and-run that occurred on the 14000 block of the Northwest Freeway on Aug. 31.
The driver of a maroon Jeep Cherokee was heading west when he hit a motorcycle ridden by Yeriel Rodriguez Mercado, 19, around 11 p.m. Mercado was thrown from the motorcycle onto the roadway. The Cherokee driver stayed at the scene.
The driver of a white Jeep Patriot then ran over Mercado before leaving the area.
Mercado died from his injuries.
