Driver dies after vehicle slams into pole off I-45 near Spring
HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A man lost his life Thursday morning following a fiery single-vehicle crash along Interstate 45 near Spring, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The wreck took place in the 20400 bock of the interstate (North Freeway) at around 6:04 a.m.
A preliminary investigation found that the man was operating a pickup truck southbound when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle traveled off the roadway. After striking the concrete based of a freeway street lamp pole located in the median dividing the main lanes from the service road, the pickup burst into flames.
EMS personnel arrived at the scene to find the male driver and sole occupant deceased at the scene.
The Harris County SHeriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is carrying out an investigation.
