Driver dies following collision with traffic signal pole near Fairmont Park
LA PORTE, TX – According to KHOU, a driver died following a crash with a traffic signal pole at W Fairmont Pkwy and Canada on Saturday.
A man was driving around 10 a.m. when he accelerated to beat a red light, lost control of his vehicle due to the wet road, and slammed into the pole.
First responders pronounced the man dead at the scene and transported two juveniles to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials have not released the victims’ names.
The La Porte Police Department is investigating the incident.
