Driver dies following crash on Richmond Ave in Houston’s Mid West area
HOUSTON, TX — A 23-year-old man lost his life Monday morning, January 1, after his car struck multiple stationary objects in Houston’s Mid West area, reports the Houston Police Department.
The fatal accident happened at 8710 Richmond Avenue, at around 6:55 a.m.
A preliminary investigation found that the young man was operating a white Kia Forte westbound when, for reasons still unclear, the vehicle hit a curb and traveled up onto the sidewalk. Subsequent crashes with a tree and a sign pole, caused the male driver to eject from the vehicle.

No other vehicles were impacted by the series of crashes.
An investigation is being handled by the HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division.
