Driver dies following crash on W 43rd St in Houston’s Central Northwest
HOUSTON, TX — A single-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Houston’s Central Northwest area claimed the life of a 51-year-old man, reports the Houston Police Department.
First responders were dispatched to the scene in the 1400 block of West 43rd Street at around 2:55 p.m.
According to the department’s Vehicular Crimes Division, the man was behind the wheel of a black GMC Sierra pickup truck and traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed. While speeding, he appeared to lose control of the vehicle before it hit a tree on the south end of the roadway.
The victim was rushed by Houston Fire Department paramedics to Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital, where he died from his injuries, confirmed authorities.
No other major injuries were reported, and no other vehicles were involved.
An investigation was in progress.
