Driver dies following single-vehicle crash on Texas 249
HOUSTON, TX – A driver died following a single-vehicle collision on the 19900 block of Texas 249 on Saturday, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Lewis Oliver was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer north on Texas 249 at high speeds when he took the exit ramp for Chasewood Park Drive around 11:09 p.m.
Oliver drove into the gore area between the exit ramp and Texas 249 Access Road. He then veered to the left and crashed into the curb and guardrail, causing the vehicle to overturn on its right side.
First responders pronounced Oliver dead at the scene.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office’s Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the incident.
