Driver fatally collides with motorcyclist on FM 529 in Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A driver struck and killed a motorcyclist on the 15700 block of FM 529 on July 2, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Elaine Mathiason was driving a maroon 2019 Honda CR-V east on FM 529 as Phu Ho was riding a green 2024 Kawasaki Ninja west on FM 529. Hol had a green light, and Mathiason had a flashing yellow signal.

Mathiason failed to yield while turning left and crashed into Ho. Ho was ejected from the bike in the collision.

First responders pronounced Ho dead at the scene at 4:35 p.m. Mathiason was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
