Driver fatally rear-ends semi-truck in Greater Greenspoint
HOUSTON, TX – According to the Houston Police Department, a passenger died and a driver was hurt when they collided with a semi-truck on the 5000 block of North Fwy on Saturday.
The driver of a white Land Rover hit the rear of a Kenmore semi-truck at a high rate of speed around 2:40 a.m. The Range Rover then strayed off the right side of the road and came to rest in a grassy area near the service road.
Rescue crews transported the driver and 36-year-old male passenger from the Range Rover to an area hospital, where the passenger died. The driver was admitted with life-threatening injuries.
The semi-truck driver was not hurt in the collision.
The Houston Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the incident.
