Driver hits, kills bicyclist in north Houston
HOUSTON, TX – A driver fatally collided with a bicyclist on the 23100 block of Eastex Freeway Service Rd on Wednesday, according to the Houston Police Department.
A 74-year-old woman was driving a red Nissan Rogue when she hit the victim from behind as he changed lanes around 1:05 p.m.
Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Following the collision, the driver stayed at the scene. Authorities determined she was not intoxicated. They questioned and released her.
The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences will verify the victim’s identity.
The HPD Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the incident.
