Driver killed, teen injured when Tahoe rolls on Eastex Fwy

HOUSTON, TX – A single-vehicle collision along the freeway in northeast Houston killed one person and injured at least one other early Monday, reports Fox 26 Houston.

The accident occurred around 1 a.m. on the northbound side of the Eastex Freeway, or I-69, near Lauder Road in Carol Place.

Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of a Chevrolet Tahoe carrying five passengers lost control of their vehicle and struck the center median on the highway. The force of the crash caused the vehicle to overturn, throwing the driver partially through the window and killing them at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim.

Medics transported a 15-year-old to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.

The four remaining passengers did not require hospitalization.

A full investigation is underway.
