Driver strikes, kills pedestrian near Gene Green Park
HOUSTON, TX – According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, a driver fatally struck a pedestrian on the 20500 block of Crosby Fwy on Thursday.
Karen Garcia was driving east on Crosby Fwy when her 3-year-old daughter became upset in the back right seat. Garcia reached back to calm her down. When she looked forward, the pedestrian was in front of her. She had drifted onto the shoulder and hit the victim around 3:15 p.m.
Following the collision, Garcia remained at the scene.
The pedestrian died in the crash.
Officials have not released the victim’s name.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the incident.
