Driver strikes, kills woman on Hollyvale Dr
HOUSTON, TX – According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, a driver fatally collided with a female pedestrian on the 300 block of Hollyvale Dr on Sunday.
Ruben Gomez Jr. was driving a gray 2021 Jeep Gladiator west on Hollyvale Dr when he hit Marlene De Jesus Aguilar-Bailon as she was walking east in the westbound lanes around 8:19 p.m. The impact knocked Aguilar-Bailon into the grass on the north side of the road.
Paramedics transported Aguilar-Bailon to an area hospital, where she died at 10:33 p.m.
Following the collision, Gomez Jr. stayed at the scene and cooperated with deputies. Authorities do not believe he was impaired.
