Fatality reported in bicycle crash on Memorial near TX-73
PORT ARTHUR, TX – A 6o-year-old bicyclist died Saturday when a vehicle struck him along a major roadway in east-central Jefferson County.
According to PA News, the incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Memorial Boulevard between TX-73 and 39th Street in Port Arthur, which is 90 miles east of Houston.
Police haven’t disclosed any details about the crash except to say that the cyclist was riding through a construction area when a car hit him.
The victim died at the scene. Authorities have not yet disclosed his name to the public.
The driver involved in the collision stopped to render aid and to speak with police.
No charges are pending at this time.
