Fatality reported in head-on crash near Bus. 90, Mesa Dr
HOUSTON, TX – A woman died early Friday in a two-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck in northeast Houston, reports KHOU 11.
The accident happened shortly before 4:30 a.m. on Business 90, or the Beaumont Highway, between Mesa Drive and Oates Road. This is northeast of I-610 and south of Saia LTL Freight.
Police say that for unknown reasons, an eastbound vehicle entered the westbound side of the Beaumont Highway and collided head on with an 18-wheeler.
The driver of the passenger vehicle, identified only as a woman in her 30s, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Officials closed the Beaumont Highway in the area of the collision while emergency teams gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.
