Fatality reported in wrong-way crash on TX-6 near Imperial
SUGAR LAND, TX – A woman died, and three people were hurt Tuesday in a wrong-way collision along the highway in eastern Fort Bend County, reports Fox 26 Houston.
The accident occurred around 8:15 p.m. in the area of South Texas Highway 6 and Imperial Boulevard in Sugar Land, about 22 miles southwest of Houston.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a southbound vehicle entered the northbound side of the highway and collided head-on with a northbound pickup truck.
The wrong-way driver succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the accident. Authorities have not yet released her name to the public.
Medics transported three people from the northbound vehicle to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
A full investigation is underway.
