Father, child hurt following crash near Greens Landing

HOUSTON, TX – A father and his 3-year-old child were hurt in a collision near North Fwy and West Rd on Sunday, according to KTRK.

The drivers of a white F-350 pickup truck and a white minivan operating as an Uber collided with each other at Deer Trail Dr and Gillespie Rd around 9 p.m. A male driver, a father, a mother, and their 3-year-old child occupied the minivan.

Following the collision, the pickup truck driver fled the scene. The Uber driver then began following the pickup truck driver.

The two drivers crashed as they attempted to make a U-turn on West Rd near I-45. The pickup truck driver collided with a column, and the minivan driver hit a traffic control box.

The pickup truck driver continued driving but was stopped by authorities. Police believe they may have been intoxicated.

Rescue crews transported the father and child from the minivan to an area hospital, where the child was admitted in critical condition. The father is in stable condition.

It is unclear if authorities will charge either driver.
