Fiery crash involving semi closes lane, ramp on I-10 EB in Baytown
HARRIS COUNTY, TX — At least one vehicle caught fire after a collision early Friday on Interstate 10 in north Baytown, according to Houston Transtar.
The accident impacted the eastbound lanes of I-10 (East Freeway) near Garth Road. It was first verified by officials at 3:18 a.m.
Authorities have not specified the circumstances of the event, but preliminary details indicate two vehicles, including a semi-truck, were involved. At least one of the vehicles was on fire at the time of the initial report.
Responding crews had the right shoulder, right lane, and entrance ramp from Garth Road closed in the immediate aftermath.
By 12:00 p.m., near nine hours later, no updates on the scene conditions have been released.
It remains unclear whether any of the involved parties was seriously hurt.
