Harris County constable, daughter die following multi-vehicle crash on I-10
HOUSTON, TX – According to Click 2 Houston, a Harris County Precinct 5 deputy constable and her young daughter died in a multi-vehicle collision on I-10 near I-610 on Friday.
The driver of a Mazda3 collided with a white vehicle around 3:20 a.m., sending the other vehicle crashing into a stationary TxDOT truck. The truck then caught on fire.
The deputy constable, Katherine Hutson, 46, and her daughter were in the white car. They died in the collision.
First responders transported a passenger from the Mazda3 to an area hospital for evaluation. The Mazda driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers.
Crews also transported the TxDOT worker to a local hospital as a precaution.
The TxDOT worker was taken to a nearby hospital to be checked out.
