HCSO deputy left hurt after hit-and-run near Brays Bayou in SW Houston
HOUSTON, TX — A hit-and-run crash early Tuesday in southwest Houston left a Harris County Precinct 5 deputy with minor injuries, according to ABC13.
The incident occurred on Chimney Rock Road near Caversham Drive and was first reported at about 1:15 a.m.
According to the Houston Police Department, an on-duty Precinct 5 deputy was driving southbound on the road when his vehicle was hit by an eastbound silver Lexus.
Though the impact of the collision nearly sent the deputy’s patrol vehicle into the Brays Bayou, he suffered only minor injuries.
The Lexus, which fled the scene following the incident, was later located in the parking lot of an apartment complex a few miles away from the crash site. The vehicle was identified by damage consistent with the collision, but the driver was nowhere to be found.
At this time, an investigation and search for the suspect remains ongoing.
