HCSO investigates fatal crash on Alief Clodine Rd near west Houston

HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A single-vehicle accident last Thursday near Brays Bayou Park in west Houston claimed the life of its driver, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said the wreck occurred in the 13900 block of Alief Clodine Road on October 19, at about 2:35 p.m.

Preliminary details show a woman was driving a Nissan Rogue westbound in lane 1. Authorities are investigating whether she was undergoing a medical episode when she veered out of her lane, causing the Nissan to hit a raised concrete curb along the south edge of the westbound roadway. After entering a grassy median, the vehicle collided head-on with a tree.

EMS personnel rushed the driver and sole occupant to an area hospital where she was later pronounced deceased, confirmed officials.

The HCSO’s Vehicular Crimes Division continues to investigate.
