Heavy truck crash leads to hazmat spill, blocking I-10 West

HOUSTON, TX – Multiple Interstate 10 West lanes were blocked due to a heavy truck crash that resulted in a hazmat spill on Tuesday, ABC13 said.

The crash occurred before 8:45 a.m. on Interstate 10 East near Mercury Drive. It took hazmat crews several hours to clean up the spill and debris before reopening all lanes at 12:15 p.m.

Officials have not specified the events leading up to the collision or said whether anyone needed to go to the hospital.

No citations or arrests were reported.
