High school senior killed by motorist in Harris County
HARRIS COUNTY, TX- An 18 year-old pedestrian was injured by a car at Davis High School on Monday, KHOU11 reports.
The 18 year-old girl was walking her younger sibling across the road without using the crosswalk when a vehicle driven by a 17 year-old struck her.
The victim was in the Greenspoint area near Spears Road in Harris County when she was hit around 7a.m.
When the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s personnel arrived, they found the victim in critical condition. She was subsequently hospitalized.
The authorities reported that the 17 year-old at-fault driver was found near the site of the incident. The driver left the scene after striking the pedestrian and crashed into a ditch nearby.
Because the boy did not stay at the location of the incident nor assist the injured girl, he will face felony charges.
Authorities continue the investigation regarding whether the boy was speeding when he hit his victim.
