Hit-and-run driver collides with patrol vehicle near Westchase Park
HOUSTON, TX – According to KTRK, an officer was hurt when a hit-and-run driver struck her patrol car at W Sam Houston Pkwy SB and Richmond Ave on Thursday.
A person driving a Chevy Tahoe ran a red light and hit the officer’s patrol car around 11 p.m. The officer was responding to a call when the wreck happened.
Following the collision, the driver fled the scene. They abandoned their vehicle at a nearby apartment complex.
Rescue crews transported the officer to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver will face a failure to stop and render aid charge if they are found.
