Hit-and-run driver fatally collides with pedestrian on Antoine Dr

HOUSTON, TX – According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a man on the 9700 block of Antoine Dr on Tuesday.

Emanuel Dewayne Watson, 55, was driving a black 2002 GMC Sierra south on Antoine Dr and was being followed by his wife, Robin Yvette Williams Watson, 55, who was driving a 2016 Lexus RX 350.

Watson hit Freddy Lee Heine around 8:23 a.m. as Heine was trying to cross the road from east to west. The collision knocked Heine to the ground, and Williams Watson then ran him over.

Watson fled the scene. His truck got stuck in the mud about .8 miles from the crash site. He then fled on foot.

Williams Watson tried to return to the scene, but her vehicle was disabled from the wreck. She cooperated with the investigation and did not display signs of impairment.

Rescue crews pronounced Heine dead at the scene around 8:41 a.m.

Authorities arrested Watson at his residence.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the incident.
