Hit-and-run driver fatally injures teen cyclist in Victoria
VICTORIA, TX – A teen bicyclist was fatally struck earlier this month at a busy intersection in central Victoria County, reports Crossroads Today.
The accident happened on Wednesday, December 17th, at South Laurent Street and Pleasant Green Drive in Victoria, which is about two hours southwest of Houston.
Police say that an unknown vehicle struck a 17-year-old bicyclist, leaving him brain dead. The victim later died at an area hospital. Authorities identified him as Dennis Lee Richardson Jr.
The driver involved in the collision did not stop to render aid or to speak with authorities.
Police are searching for the at-fault driver in the ongoing investigation of the accident.
