Hit-and-run reported near Academy of Accelerated Learning Middle School in SW Houston
HOUSTON, TX — A hit-and-run crash early Tuesday afternoon in southwest Houston’s Sharpstown area prompted a multi-agency response, according to the City of Houston Active Incidents page.
Houston Police and Houston Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the scene near Academy of Accelerated Learning Middle School, located at 5999 Savoy Drive, northwest of the Southwest Freeway outbound offramp. Dispatchers were first alerted to the crash at around 12:15 p.m.
A sequence of events has not been released, but officials indicated a significant crash and that one of the involved parties left the scene before first responders arrived.
It was not immediately clear whether anyone was seriously hurt, and no information about the fleeing suspect and/or vehicle has been made available.
