HPD investigates fatal bicycle crash on Collingsworth St

HOUSTON, TX – Houston Police area investigating a collision that fatally injured a bicyclist in north Houston on Wednesday, reports KTEN 10.

The fatality crash happened just before 1 a.m. on Collingsworth Street between Hardy Street and Maury Street.

An initial investigation suggests that the cyclist was headed north across Collingsworth when he was hit by an a westbound sedan and thrown from his bike. Another vehicle then hit the victim in the roadway.

The bicyclist, who has not yet been identified to the public, died at the scene of the crash.

Authorities have not yet commented on the conditions of the drivers involved in the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
