HPD investigates fatal collision on Almeda Genoa Rd in SE Houston
HOUSTON, TX — A single-vehicle crash Monday morning in southeast Houston’s Greater Hobby area claimed the life of a 32-year-old driver, according to the Houston Police Department.
The HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division said the fatal wreck unfolded at 8400 Almeda Genoa Road at around 5:50 a.m.
An early investigation found that the victim was operating a black BMW 428i eastbound, at a high rate of speed, when he lost control of the vehicle. The BMW spun and collided with a wooden fence before striking a large steel container.
Responding paramedics pronounced the male driver and sole occupant deceased at the scene.
No other parties or vehicles were involved in the accident.
An investigation remains in progress.
