HOUSTON, TX — A 45-year-old woman died last Friday, December 15, after being struck by a vehicle on the South Freeway service road in south Houston, reports the Houston Police Department.

The collision occurred in the 13400 block of the road, at around 1:20 a.m.

Little information has been shared, but a 26-year-old woman was driving a white Dodge Charger northbound when the vehicle hit the victim, who was walking northbound in the roadway.

Paramedics with the Houston Fire Department rushed the female pedestrian to Ben Taub General Hospital. She was pronounced deceased by doctors on Monday, December 18.

Officials said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with an initial investigation. She was determined to be unimpaired and was released from the scene.
