Injuries cited in truck crash, hazmat spill in Near Northside
HOUSTON, TX – One person sustained injuries Tuesday in a two-vehicle collision involving a truck carrying chemicals in north Houston.
According to KHOU 11, the accident occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. on the northbound side of I-45, or the North Freeway, near Cavalcade Street.
Police haven’t yet commented on the cause of the crash, which prompted a lengthy hazmat response after a pool cleaning truck fell on its side.
Medics transported one person from the scene to an area hospital. There’s no word at this time regarding the severity of the victim’s injuries.
Officials closed the freeway for just over four hours while crews worked to clear the spill.
