Jeep rear-ends truck on Galveston Causeway NB, killing 1
GALVESTON, TX – Officials closed both sides of the Galveston Causeway Monday following a multi-vehicle collision, reports Fox 26 Houston.
The accident occurred in the afternoon on I-45, or the Gulf Freeway, between Galveston and Virginia Point, which is around 50 miles southeast of Houston.
Police say that the driver of a Jeep became entrapped after his vehicle rear-ended a truck. Two additional vehicles were somehow also involved in the crash.
Following extrication, medics transported the driver of the Jeep to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim.
No other injuries have been reported.
A full investigation is underway.
