Liberty man struck, killed by semi at job site in NW China
CHINA, TX – A Liberty man sustained fatal injuries Monday afternoon in an accident that happened at an oilfield in northwest Jefferson County, reports 6 KDFM.
Shortly before 2 p.m., emergency crews responded to an auto-pedestrian crash at a work site on Vera Street in the city of China, which is about 75 miles northeast of Houston.
Police say that the 68-year-old victim was working at the job site when the trailer on an 18-wheeler hit him.
The victim, who has not yet been named by authorities, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
It’s not yet clear if the semi involved in the crash was also engaged in work at the oilfield.
A full investigation is underway.
