Male pedestrian struck, killed along Southwest Fwy in Midtown
HOUSTON, TX – A man was fatally struck late Monday night along the freeway near Midtown in Houston, reports MyTexas Daily.
Shortly before midnight, emergency crews responded to an auto-pedestrian accident along the Southwest Freeway, or US-59, between Montrose Boulevard and Wheeler Avenue.
The victim, police say, was attempting to cross the freeway on foot when an eastbound Infiniti QX60 hit him. After the first crash, a black Mercedes also struck the male pedestrian.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim to the public. They say he died at the scene of the accident.
Both drivers stopped to render aid, and no charges are pending at this time.
