Man arrested in injury collision on TX-288 in Lake Jackson
LAKE JACKSON, TX – Three people sustained injuries Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash along the highway in south-central Brazoria County.
According to Click 2 Houston, the accident happened on TX-288, or the Nolan Ryan Expressway, between Oak Drive South and Elm Street in the city of Lake Jackson. This is approximately 55 miles south of Houston.
Police say that a northbound Toyota entered the southbound side of TX-288 and collided head-on with a southbound GMC truck carrying two people.
Medics transported the driver of the Toyota and two people from the GMC to an area hospital. The female passenger from the GMC sustained potentially life-threatening injuries.
Authorities arrested the 34-year-old driver of the Toyota, identifying him as Nicholas Vivier of League City. Vivier, police say, entered oncoming traffic intentionally.
