Man dies after multi-vehicle wreck on Grand Pkwy in Katy
HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A man has died following a multi-vehicle crash Friday, June 9, on the Grand Parkway in northeast Katy, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The collision occurred in the 100 block of the northbound parkway at about 11:42 p.m.
According to officials, the decedent, Mohamed Soliman, was driving a 2009 Honda Civic northbound in lane #2 of the flyover connector ramp. At one point, Soliman failed to control his speed, causing the Civic to rear-end a 2019 Lincoln Navigator also traveling in lane #2 of the northbound side. Moments later, a driver in a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox also failed to control her speed and struck the back of the Civic.
First responders worked to administer life-saving measures on Soliman and had him rushed by medical helicopter to Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center.
On June 17, 2023, more than a week later, the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences reported that Soliman had succumbed to his injuries.
It was unclear whether any of the other involved parties, two occupants in the Navigator and the driver of the Equinox, were reported hurt.
