Man killed after ejected in Hutto US 79 accident
HUTTO, TX- A man was killed in a crash on the US 79 in Hutto after being ejected from his pickup truck earlier this week, according to local news sources.
The single vehicle crash occurred when 23-year-old Layne Alexander Watkins drove his Ford F-150 off the side of the roadway while heading westbound on US 79. He then overcorrected, flipped, and drove into a tree, ejecting the driver in the process.
Watkins was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. His passenger was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center in Round Rock for serious, but non life-threatening, injuries.
