Man killed in single-vehicle ejection crash near Airport, Cullen
HOUSTON, TX – One person sustained fatal injuries Monday in a rollover accident along a major roadway in south-central Houston, reports KHOU 11.
The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. in the 4500-4600 block of Airport Boulevard, just south of Sims Bayou and west of Cullen Boulevard.
Police say that the driver of a Ford pickup truck was likely speeding when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn multiple times before hitting a guardrail. The impact of the crash threw the driver from the vehicle, and he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the deceased.
There were no other passengers in the truck at the time of the accident, and no other vehicles were involved.
Officials are working to determine if drugs or alcohol may have been factors in the crash.
