Mercedes, Nissan collide on SW Fwy NB, killing 1
HOUSTON, TX – One woman died, and another adult sustained injuries Wednesday in a wrong-way accident along the freeway in Houston, reports KHOU 11.
The crash occurred shortly after midnight on I-69 between Buffalo Speedway and Kirby Drive, which is south of Levy Park and northeast of Summit Square.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a southbound Nissan Rogue entered the northbound side of I-69 and collided head-on with a northbound Mercedes.
The wrong-way driver, who has not yet been identified by authorities, succumbed to her injuries at an area hospital.
Medics transported the driver of the Mercedes to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
