Motorcyclist critically hurt in crash with truck and SUV on Beaumont Highway
HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A motorcyclist suffered critical injuries Wednesday evening in a wreck on Beaumont Highway near C E King Parkway, reports FOX 26 Houston.
Investigators say that around 6:15 p.m., a Dodge Journey had stopped in a westbound lane while waiting to turn into a private drive. At that same time, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a Volvo tractor-trailer were also moving west along the roadway.
Officials say the rider did not reduce their speed in time to avoid the Dodge. As a result, the motorcycle struck the rear side of the Dodge. The impact propelled the rider rightward, and the bike then collided with the truck.
First responders airlifted the injured rider to a hospital for emergency care. Reports indicate the motorcyclist was seriously hurt.
Officials have not released the rider’s name.
